Each student, going into grades 1-8, is REQUIRED to read 3 preselected books this summer.  Two of the three books are compulsory and students may choose from about 5 different choices for the third book. 

Parents and students can obtain the required summer reading list by clicking on OUR GRADE SCHOOL (within MHOC website) and click on the appropriate grade level.  Students are to look at the grade THEY WILL BE ENTERING IN AUGUST.  Barnes & Noble on University Dr. in Coral Springs also has the required summer reading lists for each grade available at their Service Desk as well as a sufficient supply of each of the books. 

Parents and students will also find within OUR GRADE SCHOOL, THE REQUIRED WORKSHEET for EACH OF THE COMPULSORY BOOKS.  The work sheet is not the same for each grade.  Again, the work sheet is to be completed for the TWO REQUIRED BOOKS.  It is not necessary for the student to complete the worksheet for the book of their choice.

It highly recommended that children read at least 30 minutes per day!
